Police recruit
earn $56,825.60 during the Academy and $63,128 upon graduation
Plus $5,000 hiring incentive after completion of the academy
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be at least 21 years old by the time of commissioning
- U.S. citizen
- No felony or domestic assault convictions
- No more than one DWI conviction, and none within the past three years
- No more than one at-fault accident or two moving violations within the past 12 months
- Must meet vision and hearing standards
- No objectionable tattoos; no tattoos on the head, face, or neck

Lateral Police officer
earn Up to $93,246.40 Plus $10,000 hiring incentive
Lateral Officer candidates must meet all Police Recruit qualifications, plus:
- Current MO POST Class A license, or law enforcement certification from another state with eligibility to obtain MO POST reciprocity
- Minimum of two (2) years of full-time sworn law enforcement experience within the past five (5) years
- Experience responding to calls for service, conducting criminal investigations, handling traffic accidents, and apprehending or arresting suspects
